well apparently many pilaf recipes have dried fruits in them.
i also put raisins in a recipe i was trying once, basically just a bunch of baked potatoes and vegetables and eggs and feta in the oven, with some raisins thrown in in order to be fancy. it tasted good for a few bites but then i got queasy, the sweetness made it weirdly heavy
