This lines up to what ancient texts talk about with earthquakes and floods. So all those pyramids were closer together at one time. They were probably monuments created by a leading family and when the land split apart they were all divided. The symbol was probably their tribe symbol. Then weather affected appearance, (think eskimo's flat faces and squinty eyes from constant blizzards, and hot sun making niggers) Over time the families faded out.
