All your weight is on that disk and it is by far the most common to suffer a fracture, when it breaks T12 and L1 wont be far behind because at that point your back isnt straight anymore. Those fractures are the reason people start bending over when they become old, their backs just cant support them anymore. Additionally you have the gel disks in between that ends up leaking and pressing on your nerves.
