>>14479478combat is just rather fun, and the game has lots of collectibles that you get very tangible rewards for so it's heavily incentivized to do a bit of exploring and keep your eyes peeled while running from quest marker to quest marker. it also does a very good job of making sure quest pickups, objectives, and turn ins are all either grouped together or along the same path so you don't end up having to run across the map just for one thing.
it's not terribly dissimilar, but i feel that it's a lot better in all the little ways. most skills with startup animations give hyper armor, a lot of end lag can be animation cancelled with other skills, all classes have a get out of jail free card in the form of a dash with i-frames on a long cooldown, etc.
i think the biggest thing is that all classes have like 16 skills, but you can only choose up to 8 to use and each one has it's own 3 part talent tree. in this way builds are extremely granular and seem to leave a lot of genuine room for making choices at your preference without having a lot of "hp +1%" talents like path of exile or making you rebuild muscle memory for a new 15 part rotation every time your build changes like in WoW.
it really hits a sweet spot as far as complexity. or at least seems to so far, this opinion might also change once i get to raid bosses and pvp.
>>14479498bound to happen really. i honestly can't think of a single group where i care about every member. most of them are lucky not to have at least one i actively dislike
