Minchao Jin, a clinical associate professor at NYU Silver School of Social Work,co-authored the studyalong with Jun-Hong Chen, a NYU Master of Social Work alumnus and a PhD candidate in social work at Washington University in St. Louis, have investigated that question. In the spring of 2017, they began following 252 rural children who were receiving the protein boost at school. After about 220 school days, the students saw significant improvements in their height, weight, and body mass compared to 94 students who weren’t part of the voluntary research.
