Then you suppose there would have been some mention of an alien race burning a gigantic trench across the face of the Earth and killing half of Florida.
I am fan of ENT but there are a few things that annoy me. The technology is often superior to that of TOS. The Klingons are a totally wasted storyline other than the lame retconning of TOS Klingons with smooth foreheads. So maybe they figured audiences were burned out on Klingons but c'mon. The Klingon plot lines were some of the best episodes late in TNG and DS9. Imagine a technologically inferior human society going up against the Klingon Empire at the height of its power. This is referenced several times by both TNG and TOS. That could have been a series all by itself. Voyager neglected the Klingons almost entirely. I think by ENT it would be safe to include them again.
I also think the time travel episodes in ST are usually among the worst episodes in each series. It's a plot device best used very sparingly. But in ENT it becomes central to the series.
Tl;dr ENT is a great sci-fi series but maybe not a great ST series.
