Is it as bad as society says it is?
Here are some things to consider.
Biologically:
>Siblings separated at a young age will tend to fall madly in love with each other.
>Genetic similarity has a huge impact on attraction.
>Lots of data saying that the evolutionary optimum genetic distance is only as far as second to third cousins.
>First cousins once in a while won't do any damage.
>Genetic similarity is actually very important with regard to fertility. Parents who are genetically close are more likely to become pregnant.
>A girl's first crush is her own father, this is why it is so important to be a good father. Be the man you want her to eventually marry.
Culturally:
>The ruling class of society has always been known for keeping it in the family
>The European pantheons are nearly all related in the lore.
> Mentioned in the bible too. Abraham's son Isaac married his cousins.
I could go on and on, but those are just a few points I wanted to mention to show that the modern hysteria around it may be just that, hysteria. Maybe even designed to further break up families, extended families, and kinship bonds to further isolate us.
