Every time I get groceries I spend about $10-15 on long term food like rice, canned food, etc. or water or excess mouthwash and similar. I have a little pile in my basement of this kind of thing. Then next to it I have a pile of general use tools such as firestarter, multitool, thermal "space" blanket, extra seeds, iodine tablets (to clean water), KI pills (radiation).
I havnt really spent much money and i nave a nice little stash, could easily be loaded into my car which I try to keep at half a tank full or more, though it is getting old (2007 FJ cruiser).
I have a rifle, pistol, and levle 4 body armor as well but I'm very low on ammo.
My current focus is getting on top of my fianances with the help of the budget of started to keep, and then I'll be able to get back on top of ammo and maybe get some other nice things like a HAM radio or purpose built long term food systems like the mormons have.
