>>10165619here are my reviews of the songs:
1, 2, 3, 4: Marching band sound, these snares. Whoa, weird drunken sounding brass sample in here. Singsong carnival vocals. Getting Red Velvet vibes. This is the sort of manic contemporary K-pop sound we've heard a lot of, but April are making it work. This is very loud, but fun. Zimzalabim paved the way. Or I Got A Boy did, but Zimzalabim had that carnival/theme park feel that a lot of groups have been imitating in both their instrumental and vocal melodies. I feel like I've heard this background melody in a boy group song before. Oh yeah, it kinda sounds like BTS - Dope. Interesting choice.
YOU.zip: RAR file format dead in a ditch. Ooh, tinkling piano at the start, rain sounds, Quiet Storm, R&B slow jam feel. DAMN THIS IS NICE. This is my shit. K-pop R&B girl group slow jams. Baybee making music with exquisite vocals and smooth instrumental. The combination of the trap rhythm, strings and deep beat really works. The strings give it an April vibe, while the other elements keep it groovy, keep it sexy and R&B. This song is FANTASTIC. This could have gone to April or WJSN and they both would have nailed it but thankfully April got it first so I could have my ears blessed sooner. This piano is so great. The verses sound like they're set in quiet lounge, then the chorus brings it back to K-pop. Oh, this is seriously so frickin' good. Anyone who enjoys a dark, melancholic, mystic R&B sound needs to check this out PRONTO. The harmonies, wow. Jaysus. April have always been a good vocal group but this song lets them demonstrate it. This should be the promoted B-side.
