>>13682678It stems from the infinite multiverse theory. If you assume there are an infinite number of universes beyond our own then mathematically there exists an entire universe for every possible permutation no matter how big or small.
There is a universe where everyone is chairs, but there's also a universe where everything has occurred exactly the same as it has in our own for billions of years, except right now a single subatomic particle is going to move in a slightly different direction.
Whether or not there are actually infinite universes we'll probably never know, since as far as we can tell there is no way to observe anything beyond our own universe.
