>>10776567well the good news is that stacking is also more effective from a utilitarian perspective since ladder climbing is instant while walking through hallways isn't. if you're going for true maximum efficiency though it's best to live out of a hallway since you can fit everything you need in those and just pop functional rooms on the end when you need them but that gets really claustrophobic
it is worth noting that rooms with special rooms with actual functions built into them have to be connected horizontally. nothing needs support under it though so you can just make a wizard tower of the blank rooms stacked vertically, fill them up with whatever you need, and pop the special rooms on to the side wherever you want.
good call, it's a real game changer.
if you place a foundation first and aren't building extra stuff for fun then it might not even come up. a base that just touches on every functional option needs maybe 3 blank rooms and like 3 other rooms which will take at most 4 reinforcements if i err on the side of me wildly misremembering the numbers.
very cute kot and water kot. it does remind me that i meant to say i'm glad you found the idea of translators having agendas disturbing as well. even willfully inserting different intent without attempting any sort of manipulation really gets under my skin in a certain sort of way. there's small things i've noticed before like seeing what i interpreted as "that [thing you said] is so funny" being translated as "you're so funny."
it's not wildly different and assuredly isn't done to deceive the masses but at the end of the day that's straight up a different meaning than what the person said so the translator has literally put words in the person's mouth and there's no chance that they'd ever be called out on it. just gives me the heebie jeebies even at that scale
