Dating culture has been a huge mistake. Heterosexual people have been socially forced into adopting homosexual mating behaviors. Homosexuals “date” as they are not like heterosexuals who pair up and form families. Homosexuals just move from casual relationship to relationship. Maybe some will mimic heterosexuals and form long term partnerships but this is not the norm. Just remember that before tinder there was grinder. Everything about modern dating culture is more suited to homosexuals.
Heterosexual people are paired up. In the past most marriages were arranged. But this did not mean that people were forced to marry someone they did not like. We can look at the practice in japan before they adopted western dating culture. They essentially had neighborhood matchmaking services. Parents and neighbors would try to find you a partner that would be compatible. But if you as a person did not like the match you were not forced to marry her. This is the difference that in the past there was a community effort to find you a wife. But now it is like shopping where you are supposed to find something based on your superficial preferences.
And everything is capitalistic too where you have to have a certain dating resume or else you’ll be ignored.
