However, why do you think it should be 2000 years from then? there is a passage about Satan being bound for 1000 years, to be then released in the tribulations iirc, but we dont know when that period would have started.
There is also the phatom time theory that argues a couple centuries or even over a millenia was just made up in the history books.
my personal headcanon goes like this:
the september prophecy marked the first half of the tribulations (pic related), or maybe that eclipse in that same year. the second half, where the beast has control over the earth would then roughly fit the with the lockdown meassures ensuing around that other eclipse in 2024.
the halfway point the beast takes controll is around the end of 2019/beginning of 2020 then, may 2019 zelensky became president and he is surviving a mortal wound away to rise up as the second beast and be worshiped. also around the time jewish rabbis talked about being in contact with their messiah
the biggest problem with that theory is that the entirety of Satans forces would consist of jobbers not getting their essential part of the prophecy regarding the mark done until the time is over and making this whole thing entirely anti climactic.
but then again it would fit that God makes his faithful unphased by all of this and also would fit the type of humor i expect him to havr that people take the mark fearing to starve and be homeless to then have God return the very next day making everyone give up their salvation for nothing
The 7 years tribulations then would and in 2024 which had another great eclipse in april.
Then it would mean we are very close to the end, but the day or hour noone can predict.
He comes when He will come, and we better be ready for Him as for a thief in the night, as we dont know when he will come.
