i haven't messed with it too terribly much outside of kawaii metal so i don't know how well it works with other stuff. i'm also a quantity over quality sort of guy when it comes to exploring new artists. as long as i listen to enough stuff that i'm generally ok with i'll find stuff i like a lot eventually and it'll usually stand out.
