Russia to suspend Nato diplomatic mission amid tension
>Russia is suspending its diplomatic mission to Nato, according to Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. In addition, staff at Nato's office in Moscow will be stripped of their accreditation by November. It comes after Nato expelled eight diplomats from Russia's mission earlier this month, saying they were working as intelligence officers. Relations between Nato and Russia have been strained since Moscow annexed Ukraine's Crimean peninsula in 2014.
Pedro Sánchez: Spanish PM vows to outlaw prostitution
>Spain's Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez pledged on Sunday to criminalise prostitution in the country. Speaking to supporters at the end of his Socialist Party's three-day congress in Valencia, Mr Sánchez said that the practice "enslaves" women. Prostitution was decriminalised in Spain in 1995 and in 2016 the UN estimated the country's sex industry was worth €3.7bn (£3.1bn, $4.2bn). A 2009 survey found that up to one in three Spanish men had paid for sex.
Norway attack: Victims killed with 'sharp object' not bow and arrow
>Five people who died in an attack in Norway last week were actually killed by a "sharp object" and not a bow and arrow as was initially reported. The suspect, Espen Andersen Brathen, shot at people with arrows in Kongsberg, close to the capital, Oslo. But investigating officers said at some point he either discarded or lost his bow.
Polish PM accuses EU of blackmail as row over rule of law escalates
>Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki has accused the EU of "blackmail" in a heated debate with European Commission chief Ursula von der Leyen over the rule of law. The clash in the European Parliament follows a top Polish court ruling that rejected key parts of EU law. Mrs von der Leyen said she would act to prevent Poland undermining EU values. In response, Mr Morawiecki rejected "the language of threats" and accused the EU of overstepping its powers.
