>>21390088Cassie storms out of the control room and down a flight of stairs, making a beeline for a staff entrance to the club area. She pushes the door open, emerging into the chaos of a panicked crowd, clearly now free of whatever hold was on them before.
With eyes fixated on the woman in black, Cassie shoves and barges her way through the crowd as they try to rush away in the opposite direction. The dance continues, a display that would undeniably be alluring under different circumstances, but tonight, only stokes the flames of Cassie’s rage.
Cassie loses sight of her target through the smoke and another wave of panicked humanity. She swings an arm, her fist connecting with someone’s head. Another swing, this time a nose collapses against her elbow. Cassie steps through the openings in the mass of humanity created by the fallen patrons and as the room empties, finally catches sight of the strange duo once again, seemingly toasting their success in front of the DJ booth.
Cassie slowly claps as she approaches the pair, alerting them of her presence. Her cold glare momentarily rests on the one with green streaks in her hair, before fixating on the other woman. The one who started the fire with a flick of her fingers and danced as the flames raged. A woman who had in one night permanently etched herself into Cassie’s brain.
Their eyes lock onto each other as Cassie closes the last of the distance between them, and glares down at this strange new individual. She was so close now, close enough to strangle. After a few more seconds of unblinking silence, Cassie speaks. “Tell me your name.”
