On the left is a photograph of a typical Italian man. His African heritage is approximately six times more pronounced in his visual appearance (saying nothing about his behavior, personality, and predilection for crime). This is what Italians look like today, completely separated from the historical residents of that peninsula from the classical age (who actually were white -- this is the cause of the confusion).
If Mariah Carey is black, can you seriously consider Italians white?
