>>9619214You know, maybe it was for the better. Krokodil was a big problem because it was a part of street culture. It was the usual way common people got addicted with the help of peer pressure.
I agree that it's too harsh, especially regarding patients that need strong analgesics. Nowadays getting stuff like legit LSD is A LOT easier than getting codeine, which is insane. But some people were just too naive regarding opiates and it lead to a nation-wide epidemic.
I believe that opioids and bath salts can be used as medicine. Light doses of psychedelics could be used for psychotherapy sessions as well (if you trust the therapist). The problem is that all of this is abused too easily, and as much as I do not want to be prosecuted for the possession of it and would like it to be legalized, I understand that this stuff could be harmful for the most people, because they don't use drugs responsibly and/or are too ill-minded to be trusted with something that could be classified as poison. In best-case scenario, with responsible users I'd advocate for it. But, you know, I live in a society, and I know how it will probably end, it won't be pretty. I don't want my country to become the main exporter of cartel snuff gore videos.
>with binding agents that just kill you if you try to get too high or start junking out, taking it every day, get lifetime in prison for selling the substance without the binding agentHypothetically a good idea, but there's still a high chance it will be extracted. Some of the pills with codeine came with paracetamol that was extracted easily using water and gauze cloth.
Thankfully, now opiates are mostly gone, and stuff like m-cat and a-pvp have taken their place. At least it's not as cheap and isn't sold in every drug shop around the corner.
Speaking of which, do you have some system for buying drugs? Do you buy them off the internet then go to some alley to pick it up, or is real-life dealing through connections still a thing?
