>>19725990>TVs are objectively better in 2024This has some truth to it.
OLED is now almost cheap.
4K DLP is actually affordable.
Most sets just use LED's for Back-light, so fixing them is pretty easy.
You can get a used 75 inch TV today for $200.
Smaller, lighter and cheaper.
Won;t die if you try to fix it.
Thing is? With Video? It should be cheap.
Things change and get better every few years.
And right now?
8k is the big thing.
We don't even have 8k content out there in the wild really or movies that are easy to get.
8k at 240FPS with Film like Color space is still Bleeding edge. And we still don't have projectors that can pull that off in the consumer space.
Even the Uncompressed HDMI standard is lacking a bit for this.
So with Video? Who cares.
With your Fridge?
I REALLY DO GIVE A FUCK!
I'm not married!
The real big thing going forward is we still don't have a CHEAP Optical storage medium for disks of the 1TB capacity.
And it looks like HDD's are at 23TB for 2024.
So about 20TB of data storage.
Blue ray would need 300GB disks to do 8k movies.
Never mind the uncompressed stuff.
Anyways, shit breaks since people are just as disposable as the stuff they buy.
