>>20156092>Go back to r*edditAre you implying 5x5 came from there?
>Someone on /k/ translated a 1930's German fitness bookWhat makes you think that's a good source? Were there jacked dudes walking around 1930s Germany?
No.
Training programs, nutrition and lifting science have evolved massively since then.
>>20156910>"Old man strength" from doing more motion with less weight to boil it down. That is that the exact OPPOSITE way to get old man strength.
I have old man strength because I've been lifting heavy since I was a teenager, and I was a personal trainer for 6 years.
>>20157235>Please explain why that is a bad method, w/ citing sources.Because you pulled it out of your ass for one.
Here's what I just did at the gym:
>10 min walk>shoulder and rotator cuff warmup and stretching>Flat bench 3x5 @ 225 lbs (after 4 warmup sets)>Military (standing shoulder) press 3x5 @ 135 lbs.>Incline DB press 3x8 with 80s>Dips 3x to failureIt didn't even take that long and it's far more effective than a 10x10 program. I'm a small guy too.
