I think I felt it more when I was in the military, walk into comm shop and see your junior Marines and they greet you 'good morning, sergeant' but it being a rank thing makes it totally different from honorifics but the impression sort of felt the same.
Also, I like it when my nephew and nieces call me 'uncle' I like it a lot. They're so cute.
