not technically wrong, but this explanation makes it seem like all these pitfalls are just as common as filler which definitely isn't remotely true. i don't think the anime getting cancelled during filler is rare, but the rest definitely are. unless the mangaka is some super sperg or hates an adaptation being forced upon his IP by someone else, they're going to be consulted constantly for the anime.
it would have to be complete and total lack of care for characters to become impossibly different from themselves or have the anime start producing filler episodes just before the manga ends. really the only way it can happen is for the animation company to either ignore or intentionally choose not to consult the mangaka, knowing that whatever he says is going to be fact
