But few talk about "vivid dreaming". Just as weird are dreams in which you are entirely certain that you are awake. You are so certain, that you even toy with the idea "it would be funny if this was a dream" jokingly, as you recognize some eerie feeling that you get when you're dreaming. And then you realize you're waking up and you start saying "ohh shit" and finish the sentence in your RL bed.
