they're both pretty straight forward classes. fighter tends to have more options but does less damage on average. barbarians basically say "i'm gonna start raging" at the start of combat and then "i'm gonna hit em with my axe" every subsequent turn, but it's very effective. it's also worth noting barbarians get hit more often but have absurdly hard health, which makes their tankiness a lot more consistent
if you're feeling real spicy and want more complexity paladin is a good fighter type class that still has some amounts of magic
