The mucus membranes of the rectum readily uptake most small molecule drugs with higher potency and faster effect than oral or even IV route.
The glass buttplug breaks when you clench on it, the glass cuts up the membrane, the drug is absorbed faster into the bloodstream and the only problem that the drug user has to face is fishing out broken glass...but they are probably so high that they don't even notice.
