I'm getting force-recruited, not volunteering - otherwise I would choose the military because volunteering for terrorist groups is a whole nother kind of bad whereas getting force recruited is just "shit happens, they overran my place and force-recruited me." I'm sure there are many many stories like this - so I might as well make it last 1/20th of the time and I can move on with my life (somewhat) afterwards.
