Pornography is a drug and a weapon, it is a plague, a sickness that relentlessly infects our society. Porn is the demonic bride of the modern masturbatory man. It is a drug most of us have been addicted to at some point in our lives, yet we are all ashamed to discuss or even acknowledge it. We talk about our struggles with nicotine, caffeine, alcohol and junk food openly but this horrible drug, the one that hurts our souls, debases men and women and takes away our very sense of dignity, pride and joy is kept as a taboo.
There is no shame to be had, research has shown that children are, on average, first exposed to porn at the tender age of 11. Most of us, especially those of us who suffer from autism, don’t even stand a chance.
The harm that it does to individuals and society is undeniable : addiction, isolation, increased aggression, distorted beliefs and perceptions about relationships and sexuality, negative feelings about ourselves, and the neglecting of other areas of our lives are all well documented effects of the digital opium.
Like any addiction, it can be beaten, the human mind is incredibly malleable, with the right mindset, almost nothing is beyond our reach. It will be a constant struggle, you will fall, you will fail over and over. It is not an easy or a proud battle to wage, but it is a necessary one. We cannot heal the world without healing ourselves first. Do it Anon, slay the dragon. You owe it to yourself. Good luck
