>The worst part about /pol/ is the overall "Internet is serious business" attitude that makes even the raids feel forcedThis. I used to browse 4ch -o- n, from its inception till its demise, and the /pol/ board there is definitely what killed it. If you haven't heard of the ch -o- n, it was a two-board site made after /new/ and /r9k/ got axed from 4chan. Best internet browsing experience I've ever had was on that /r9k/ board, but /new/ crept in, the mods did nothing, and slowly but surely, the whole site turned into a stormfag in-club. We had amusing, original threads that only lasted a few posts before nosediving into srs bsns arguments about the Jewish conspiracy to end all of civilization.
As a result, I have little respect for /pol/, but I'm actually happier with them becoming the flagship board over /b/. Their shitposting is harmless and usually funnier than what /b/ used to bring to the table. There's ALWAYS going to be some shitshow board that leaks its sewage onto the rest of the site. At least /pol/'s version of this is somewhat amusing and does a good job of scaring away normies, who are starting to sincerely believe that 4chan is an alt-right political activism website. As the old adage goes, shitposting on 4chan is like pissing into the ocean. If you seriously get triggered by /pol/posting, you're just as pathetic as they are.
