In simpler version Catholicism believes we become gods through Participation in Actus Purus. Mormons view people as becoming gods through learning to love fully and completely like the members of the trinity have always done, and thus perfect humanity (attaining divinity). The core difference is subsistence existence, Catholics say yes, Mormons say no.
