If I were a teacher I'd definitely look the other way if I saw the quiet kid throwing punches for the first time in his life. Especially if I knew the "victim" is usually not on the receiving end.
>>17249536Zero tolerance is somewhat lazy, but if all involved parties are punished equally, I think it's not the worst approach either. Even as a kid I'd have been understanding if we both would've gotten into trouble for causing a ruckus, but I was the only one who got all sorts of punishments (recess, extra homework, coming in early, cleaning boards, classrooms and the schoolyard, ...) for what would've been an empty threat in any case. Meanwhile the other kid never had to face any consequences for his actions.
