>>467450095Sin is very real. To sin means to fall short of a target it is something that comes from the days of bows and arrows.
As a concept within moral framework, religion, and spirituality it means to fall short of a moral target. You're not supposed to steal but then you stole something so you sinned...you fell short of the target of not stealing.
So the idea of sinning individually or as a group of people, a nation, and suffering God's wrath, judgement, and hell....well these are all meant as direct physical real world consequences.
The idea that this is all stuff meant to get you in some afterlife...some realm completely separated from this material plane is a very recent one.
Modern spirituality in general has this nasty problem of being entirely divorced from the material world and I think that was an idea, a meme, deliberately disseminated to keep the masses from truly being able to pursue their own spiritual development and thus cultivating their soul. It is easier to control meat automatons after all.
But don't take my word for it. I'm just a guy who studies the occult and esoterica.
