>>22769726When your food is clean and not half rotten you don't need to drown it in a plethora of spices and salt. The taste of the food itself is good and the seasonings exist in addition to that not to cover it up.
I also suspect this might be a side effect of the massive factory farming...meats and vegetables that are GMO and raised in a way for the largest size, quickest growth, and largest shelf life don't have a whole lot of flavor in themselves.
I imagine the preparation conditions also require heavy spice...if you want to know what I mean by that just take a look at how food is prepared in India. Dudes just handling it with their bare unwashed hands in the filthiest kitchens known to man...yeah I'd want my mouth numbed with spice too if my food was guaranteed to be mixed with feces.
