Did you ever watch those Terminator movies? Well Arnold Schwarzenegger and American who lives in California played the killer robot. Anyway Germany decided dub the movie in their language and Arnold Schwarzenegger offered to due the dub for his own character since he already spoke fluent German however he was deigned because apparently Austrian German to them is comparable to what we in the States consider a deep Southern accent from say Texas or whatever and they didn't want their killer robot from the future to sound Austrian which is kind of a shame honestly.
Anyway that's where I came up with the term red neck Germany 2.0 from what I understand about those two countries.
