I've been digging into this ever since I watched a documentary which made it clear that when the star Regulus alines in one of the equinoxes to the Sphinx's "heart" (this protrusion that the arabs call the heart of terror), then the cataclysm will begin. It has almost aligned and it happens to align with the geological record, of course with the explanation being an airburst from a comet lol.
