>>14391878thanks for the links. more or less, rahn claims that the cathars were not a christian sect but rather a remnant of the pre-christian pagans (apollo worship among others i believe). the culture he describes as such, if true, is something that has been completely erased from history. its debatable how much in this book is "true" (since his first book "kreuzzug gegen den gral" did claim the cathars to be christian), but if it is true he sheds a very unique and amazing perspective on prechristian europe. also, he ties his theories in with a lot of meta myths from germanic culture.
its been a few years since ive read it, but as far as i can remember this was the gist of it. also, this book intros into other writers such as miguel serrano's works which are also very interesting reads.
