I am in Lower Saxony. We have the Steinhuder Meer and the Dümmer, both of which are some nice lakes with their own trails.
The Zugspitze is a bit too far away for me. If I had company that would join me I'd definitely go there.
My dream is to go on a long hike for several months some day. Maybe the "Camino de Santiago", or some of the European long-distance paths, like the E3, E11 or E1. But those are not things I'd be comfortable doing by myself and definitely not at my skill level. If I had a group I'd consider doing this in a few years.
