>>10150393>>10150396>>10150399Rome was never great, All of their victories were against weak and disorganized armies.
Vs. Greek kingdoms - after decades of infighting that left them completely powerless and ravaged, and practically begging to be conquered.
V.s Carthage - a small colony with almost no cavlary that relied on berber mercenaries. their only power was naval but had no manpower to sustain against 50x larger and more populated Rome.
Vs. Gaul and Celts - literally no unified army, armor, or advanced tactics/strategy. that wasn't a war it was genocide.
Vs. Dacia and Illyria - small kingdoms that were already in decline from fighting with the Greeks for years.
Every time Rome faced a unified advanced organized army they either lost or got a stalemate. that's why they couldn't defeat Persia overwhelmingly despite trying for literally hundreds of years.
They couldn't even take over all of Germania despite trying for hundreds of years.
And then they lost to bedouin rapists and Turkshits. KEK.
Literally the most overrated """empire""" ever. they just had got lucky to fight crumbling entities or literal farmers.
