He's objectively a rather ugly person, but because his hair is black the eye doesn't focus as much on all the flaws (he's actually a weird case in that he doesn't have a recessed chin or no jaw or anything, his face is just really weird and crooked). Look at blonde Cameron Diaz. He weird cheeks and lines can't be hidden and she comes off as a leather-skinned mummy. But once she went dark the two colours contrasted and made her face "tamer".
