Apparently that’s what Australians call sandals, but nonetheless Kelly momentarily finds herself picturing Sheila in nothing but the kind of thongs she’s more familiar with, and her cheeks briefly redden before she regains focus.
As Sheila sits on a nearby shoe bench, Kelly can’t help but notice her feet once again, and how pretty they are despite Sheila’s apparent tendency to walk around barefoot at times. She kneels beside Sheila, and gently slides the sandals, or ‘thongs’, onto one foot and then the other.
