Some of us had Atari, but that was 4 bit graphics.
Internet was a ways off.
There was NO fat kids in my school, save one, and she had actual medical problems.
We all played. Because sitting at home sucked.
You complain about being "neglected" but try being a latch-key kid.
We all had scrapes, cuts and bruises on our bodys and nobody cared.
