>>12725331No but there‘s people who do. Marriages are wildly different, just like every other relationship, since it depends on the people involved.
You can only feel trapped and caged in a marriage if you think you can‘t leave if you ever wanted to. Ofc that could happen easily because compared to just being together, getting married is a bigger commitment. But if what keeps you commited is the judgement of society or the hassle of having to go through a divorce then that‘s a very sad testament to your relationship. If you have any self worth, you‘ll leave even if you‘re married if the relationship is not doing you any good and there‘s no hope left that it will get better. Most people don‘t have any self worth, so they just stay because what others think is more important to them than not stay in a destructive relationship. That‘s why marriage gets a bad rep. Because of all the people staying when they should have left. There‘s very good marriages out there but they are rare. But that‘s not because marriage is a bad thing, it‘s because there are almost no sane people left. Can‘t have healthy relationships between unhealthy individuals.
