About 2.18 billion years ago give or take, all life in the world was asexually reproducing meaning the DNA could just copy itself to make two copies. The gain of function to multi-celled organisms for role-specialization had already occurred and so these single cells were experimenting with the gain of function of making a new type of cell that didn't concern itself with copying and it only had one role, to crawl out of a hole in the hull, make righteous combat with the enemy, and bring back into the hull broken pieces of opponent hull [calories]. This advanced such that the asexually reproducing organism would make sub-type copies of itself, less babyfactory, and optimized for attack, and protect, and bringing back calories. This is the origin of the T-Helper, B-Lyphocyte which are the heavy load lifters of your immune system. The immune system predates gender. Later this immune system, T-Helper B-lyphocyte would lock arms in an ultron-like gain of function and become is own multi-celled organism, less baby factory, and the asexually producing "female" emphasis on airquotes, made a multi-celled "male" for three reasons only: protection from other variants of me, to die in combat, and to bring separated enemy meat-on-a-stick back through the hole in the "female" so copies could be made.
