For instance, we have a payment server that was designed to use all available resources even if nothing is running. This causes a lot of slowdowns for our users and we can’t bounce the server without it causing the higher ups to sperg.
Recently I had to redesign our security groups for our new office in Guadalajara but in the process learned they have been TURNING OFF THE DOMAIN CONTROLLER. So that causes more complications.
Don’t even get me started on the amount of depreciated servers we have that are “integral” to our operations.
I have an SFTP server running Windows server 2008 on bare metal we can’t get rid of yet until I’m done deploying the VM for the new one. I have another we just migrated to merge the two domains we had into one that is literally a black sun Microsystems machine.
My job is anything but simple.
