What this does, is that it diverts attention from Pepe, converting many Pepeposters into Brettposters, which might even go so far as to kill Pepe. As you probably understand, Brett does not and will probably never have the same momentum as Pepe has. Which means Brett will be able to die out on it's own, while Pepe will not.
