It's still a flag that represents the culmination of white male internetdom for the last 2 decades. It gives people not willing to make the jump the plausible deniability to deny outright 14ness or 88ness when necessary, yet still represents the core of the alt-right good enough to be more meaningful than a simple "civic nationalist" flag would be.
It was a really good idea and I want to give Sargod 10 bucks. His "parody of SJWs" explanation for it is still a good idea because it makes white nationalism a part of the conversation about social justice, where it always belonged in the first place. Instead of trying to be edgy all the time, I've always wanted to see 14 invade the SJW arguments and beat them on their terms.
