But in 2002 the year 1986 felt eons away culturally in every way even though it was only 16 years apart. It was a funny lampoon and spoof of the 80s. Everything was changing so fast from the 60s-90s then pretty much came to a halt in the late 90s. A game set 16 years ago from present day would take place in 2006 and there's no real difference. There's nothing to parody or lampoon from 2006 or the early 2000s because there was no distinct culture. it's impossible to make fun of a culture where one never existed
