>>21480135>Need is not the same as desire.Sex is also a need (for the species, not the individual). Why do you think you have “desires” you fucking retard?
Yes, you do desire water. That’s why it tastes so good to drink cold water on a hot day. Because your body rewards you for doing what it needs.
It’s not a perfect system. We can desire things that aren’t good for us or in quantities that aren’t good for you. Sugar is great for you. It provides the glucose you need for short bursts of energy (and much else). Lots of sugar is very bad for you, but your body isn’t great at telling you when to stop because our bodies didn’t typically experience the kind of abundance modern life allows for.
Eating berries feels good. Breaking your femur feels bad. We don’t live in our natural environments.
Sex feels awesome because mammals need incentive to reproduce. There’s no shame/sin associated with the process. It’s not your “selfish desires.” It’s your body telling you to fulfill the biological imperative and reproduce. Nature doesn’t have a moral. It has an objective.
Some species can cheat their biology and masturbate, like gorillas and humans. Why this doesn’t achieve reproduction, it keeps the prostate active and the reproductive system functioning as intended. Too much is bad for you, and so it too little. The reproductive system (like everything else) requires homeostasis. Women who never get pregnant go infertile faster. Humans who never exercise lose muscle mass. Men who never ejaculate degrade their prostate and sperm health.
These are pretty simple concepts to people who aren’t bronze-age zealots.
