I lent $800 to one of my friends to keep him out of jail. Took him YEARS to pay me back. He only gave me $600 back. The next day he told me he needed "his" money back. I told him no. He threatened to come and kill me and then insulted me a bunch. This was my childhood best friend but he got bad into drugs.
On the flip side I have also helped another good friend and he has helped me a lot.
So yea, it really depends on how well you know the guy and the rest of the situation. You're being too vague to really judge.
