There's even vast sections of land/forestry here that you can't legally enter because it's owned by america. they use it as extra land for growing pine trees for logging. so, not all of nz even belongs to us.
and all of our good quality produce is exported overseas. only the shit-tier produce is actually left in the country for sale to the new zealand people. and they're trying to bring in new legislation here at the moment to make it illegal to grow produce on your property (as many, many people here do) because "if it isn't pumped with pesticides, it's not safe to consume".
the government here just won't stop shilling us. we even had the national party get voted out recently and the labour party took over. but the labour party's just doing the same thing. it almost feels like there's someone else pulling the strings here and the governmental party we see is just a facade.
the landscape here is still beautiful. but only at a distance. when you look deep into it, you find toxic algae in quite a lot of rivers here, and 1080 poison that gets dropped by planes over forests to kill pests. but they also kill native birds and other animals that nobody wants to die. and they kill peoples dogs, because of course if a dog sees a 1080 tablet they just think it's food. we're the only country that sanctions the use of 1080. it baffles me, because it's a pretty nasty poison to be killed by too. it makes you vomit and shit blood profusely.
