picrel is much less ornate because it was laying in a swamp in the mekong for hundreds of years i guess but standing in front of it i could feel the residue of thousands or millions of ancient prayers from when it stood in a temple at a trade crossroads between india and china, i could almost hear the gongs and smell the incense and i almost felt like it was blessing me, appreciating that i noticed it. i still think about that. very friendly statue
